Abstract:

Provided are compounds of formula M(L.sup.1)(L.sup.2), wherein M is Pd or Pt; L.sup.1 is a tridentate ligand, or a substituted or unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl ligand; L.sup.2 is a bidentate ligand; if L.sup.1 is a tridentate ligand, then it is coordinated to M forming at least two 6-membered chelate rings; if L.sup.1 is a cyclopentadienyl ligand, then L.sup.2 is a monoanionic ligand; and L.sup.1 and L.sup.2 can be joined together by a linker. Also provided are formulations comprising these compounds. Further provided are OLEDs and related consumer products that utilize these compounds.
