Abstract:

Provided is an organic light emitting device comprising: an anode; a cathode; and an organic layer comprising a first compound of Formula ##STR00001## wherein X.sup.1, X.sup.2, and X.sup.3 are each independently C or N; at least one of X.sup.1, X.sup.2, and X.sup.3 are N; R represents mono to the maximum allowable substitution, or no substitution; and at least one R is nitrile; and a second compound being a tetradentate Pd or Pt complex. Also provided is a compound of Formula ##STR00002## wherein Z.sup.5 is C.sup.5 or N; Z.sup.7, Z.sup.8 and Z.sup.9 are C or N; Ring A is a monocyclic ring comprising one 5-membered or 6-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring, or a multicyclic fused ring system comprising at least two fused 5-membered or 6-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic rings and R.sup.6 is CN or represents a further monocyclic or multicyclic ring structure. Also provided are formulations and consumer products comprising these compounds.
