Abstract:
An OLED incorporating a first emitting compound in its emissive layer is disclosed. The first emitting compound has the formula G.sup.1-Z, Formula I, where G.sup.1 is an electron acceptor group; and Z is an electron donor group, where Z has the formula: ##STR00001## wherein each of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently represents no substitution to the maximum allowable substitution; wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, deuterium, halide, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heteroalkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino, silyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, heteroalkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, heteroaryl, acyl, carbonyl, carboxylic acids, ester, nitrile, isonitrile, sulfanyl, sulfinyl, sulfonyl, phosphino, and combinations thereof; and wherein two or more of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 substitutions are optionally joined or fused into a ring.
