Abstract:
A compound that has the structure according to Formula M(L.sub.A).sub.x(L.sub.B).sub.y(L.sub.C).sub.z: wherein ligand L.sub.A is ##STR00001## ligand L.sub.B is ##STR00002## and ligand L.sub.C is ##STR00003## and devices and formulations containing these compounds are disclosed. In Formula M(L.sub.A).sub.x(L.sub.B).sub.y(L.sub.C).sub.z: M is a metal having an atomic number greater than 40; x is 1 or 2; x+y+z is the oxidation state of the metal M; X.sup.1-X.sup.4 and A.sup.1-A.sup.8 are C or N; at least one of A.sup.1-A.sup.8 is N; X is O, S, or Se; two adjacent R.sup.B form a six-member aromatic ring E fused to ring B; wherein ring E can be substituted by R.sup.E; each R.sup.A-R.sup.E and R.sup.1-R.sup.4 is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, deuterium, halide, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heteroalkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino, silyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, heteroalkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, heteroaryl, acyl, carbonyl, carboxylic acids, ester, nitrile, isonitrile, sulfanyl, sulfinyl, sulfonyl, phosphino, and combinations thereof.
