Abstract:

Certain embodiments of the invention provide a cationic lipid of formula (I): wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are defined as described herein, as well as methods of making these lipids. Certain embodiments of the invention also provide nucleic acid-lipid particles comprising a cationic lipid of formula (I), methods of making the lipid particles, and methods of delivering and/or administering the lipid particles. ##STR00001##
