Graph views and models for representing networks and associated inventory

Abstract:

Systems and methods provide graph views and models for representing networks and associated inventory. A management system includes models of service and network inventory, their relationships, and state. To support the processes effectively, the inventory must provide capabilities to change the state of the inventory to reflect changes within the network or planning processes for the intention of the network. The present disclosure includes a technique for providing multiple views of (inventory) data via the relationships in a graph database. The present disclosure further includes a metadata specification that is an approach for defining compatibility between types of entities, separate from the composition representing their constituent parts. Finally, the present disclosure includes behavior modeling that is a mechanism to attach behaviors to entities in the model, and re-use existing behaviors for new entities in the future when added to the model.
