POLYAMIDE COMPOSITIONS

Abstract:

Described herein are polyamide compositions comprising poly alpha-1,3-glucan in combination with a compatibilizer and processes for preparing such compositions. Such polyamide compositions exhibit improved elongation at break compared to polyamide compositions which lack a compatibilizer. These polyamide compositions exhibit an elongation at break of at least 9 percent when measured according to ASTM D638 after exposure to water at 120.degree. C. at 2 atm pressure for 192 hours.
