SYSTEMS FOR MONITORING ROOMS IN A MEDICAL FACILITY

Abstract:

A system for monitoring room use in a medical facility. The system includes medical devices having sensors that produce machine data corresponding to operation of that medical device. A central processing module analyzes the machine data to identify portions corresponding to clinical cases via at least one of: detecting changes in operational status within the medical devices, detecting changes to devices settings within the medical devices, and detecting a delivery or consumption of anesthetic agent by the medical devices. The central processing module further analyzes the identified portions of the machine data corresponding to the clinical cases to identify procedural events, then automatically determines a current use status for the monitored rooms based on the procedural events identified. A display device communicates with the central processing module and displays the current use status determined for each of the monitored rooms.
