AUTOMOTIVE GLASS COMPOSITIONS, ARTICLES AND HYBRID LAMINATES

Abstract:

Embodiments of glass articles comprising an anneal point (.degree. C.) and a softening point (.degree. C.), and the relationship of (anneal point+softening point)/2 in a range from about 625.degree. C. to about 725.degree. C. are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the glass articles include a glass composition including SiO.sub.2 in an amount in a range from about 63 mol % to about 75 mol %; Al.sub.2O.sub.3 in an amount in a range from about 7 mol % to about 13 mol %; R.sub.2O in an amount from about 13 mol % to about 24 mol %; P.sub.2O.sub.5 in an amount in a range from about 0 mol % to about 3 mol %, and one or both of MgO and ZnO. Laminates including such glass articles, and methods for making such laminates are also disclosed.
