Abstract:
Provided are a traffic environment recognition device and the like capable of quickly recognizing a traffic environment in a traveling direction of a host vehicle. On the basis of surrounding situation data D_info, a vehicle control device 1 recognizes a moving object and a landmark within a predetermined range in a traveling direction of a host vehicle 3, and also recognizes a positional relationship between the moving object and the landmark. When a bicycle 21 is recognized as the moving object, a first moving object noun "bicycle" is selected, and when a guard fence 23 is recognized as the landmark, a first landmark noun "fence" is selected. Further, a positional relationship word "behind" indicating a positional relationship between the bicycle 21 and the guard fence is selected. Then, first scene data is created by associating "bicycle", "behind", and "fence" with each other.
