ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION FOR A LITHIUM ION CELL

Abstract:

An electrolyte solution for a lithium-ion cell includes at least one organic carbonate solvent, at least one lithium salt including a non-coordinating anion and at least one polyfluorinated alkoxy olefin according to the general formula I, the general formula II, or the general formula III: I: R.sub.aR.sub.bC.dbd.CH--O--R, II: R.sub.aR.sub.bC.dbd.CH--O--CHR.sub.a'R.sub.b', III: R.sub.aR.sub.bC.dbd.CH--O--R.sub.c--O--CH.dbd.CR.sub.a'R.sub.b', wherein R.sub.a and R.sub.a' are each independently a fluorinated alkyl group having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, R.sub.b and R.sub.b' are each independently F, Cl, Br or H, and R is C.sub.nH.sub.xF.sub.y, wherein n is an integer from 1 to 6, x and y are each independently integers from 0 to 13, and x+y=2n+1 or x+y=2n-1, and R.sub.c is C.sub.kH.sub.(2k+1), wherein k is an integer from 2 to 4.
