Abstract:

In an embodiment, an apparatus includes: a modulator to modulate an optical signal with a frequency modulated (FM) signal according to IQ single sideband (SSB) modulation to output a modulated optical signal; an integrated optical transceiver to transmit the modulated optical signal and receive a reflection of the transmitted modulated optical signal; and a bandpass filter coupled to at least one of the modulator or the optical transceiver to filter at least one of the modulated optical signal or the reflection of the transmitted modulated optical signal.
