Abstract:

Provided are transition metal compounds having 5-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring in a unique configuration of fused rings per Formula I ##STR00001## The compounds show improved phosphorescent emission in red to near IR region and are useful as emitter materials in organic electroluminescence device.
