Abstract:

A compound is disclosed that includes a ligand L.sub.A of Formula I ##STR00001## where ring C is a 5-membered or a 6-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring; each R.sup.A, R.sup.B, and R.sup.C independently represents mono to the maximum allowable number of substitutions, or no substitution; L.sub.A is complexed to a metal M; M is optionally coordinated to other ligands; the ligand L.sub.A is optionally linked with other ligands to comprise a tridentate, tetradentate, pentadentate, or hexadentate ligand; and any two substituents of R.sup.B and R.sup.C may be joined or fused together to form a ring.
