COMMON BEAM TRAINING FOR A GROUP OF COMPONENT CARRIERS

Abstract:

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for training a beam for multiple component carriers (CCs) for concurrent communications in a wireless communications system associated with limited user equipment (UE) capabilities. The beam training may improve a receive or transmit beam for two or more CCs as a group that share an RF chain. The UE may receive, via a first receive beam, a first reference signal on a group of CCs over a first symbol. The UE may also receive, via a second receive beam, a second reference signal on the group of CCs over a second symbol. The UE may select a receive beam for a subsequent communication based on determining a value of a parameter for each of the first and the second receive beam.
