Beam failure recovery in millimeter wave systems with network assisted user equipment cooperation

Abstract:

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may detect a beam failure associated with a millimeter wave link between the first UE and a base station; and transmit, to a second UE and via a millimeter wave link between the first UE and the second UE, a communication associated with performing a beam failure recovery (BFR) for the millimeter wave link between the first UE and the base station, wherein the second UE is capable of communicating with the base station via a millimeter wave link between the second UE and the base station.
