Abstract:

A medical observation system includes: an imaging device (2) including an imaging element, and a time-of-flight sensor capable of detecting a distance to a target object; a lens barrel (rigid scope: 3) that includes an illumination optical system and an imaging optical system, and is replaceably mounted to the imaging device (2); and a light source device (4) connected to the illumination optical system of the lens barrel via a light guide. The light source device (4) includes: a first light source (41) configured to emit first light that is guided in the illumination optical system and illuminates a target object; and a second light source (42) configured to emit second light to be detected by the time-of-flight sensor, and the time-of-flight sensor receives the second light that has been reflected by the target object and passed through the imaging optical system of the lens barrel.
