An optimization segment from contents multicast is generated from a distribution server when optimization processing is performed on a segment corresponding to a request by a client terminal according to a viewpoint direction in the client terminal, and the optimization segment is transmitted to the client terminal. The present technology can be applied to, for example, an information processing system that provides seamless streaming.
